Actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has addressed online buzz surrounding his wife Judy Austin’s former marriage, dismissing claims that he interferes in her co-parenting arrangements with ex-husband Emmanuel Obasi.
In a recent social media post, Edochie clarified his stance on the matter, stating he has no roleitonein the parenting discussions between Austin and Obasi. “Several supporters have reached out urging me to grant him access to his children,” he shared. “The truth is, I’ve never stood in the way of anyone seeing their kids.”
The Nollywood star emphasized that custody matters should remain between Obasi and his ex-wife. “He has her contact details—they can settle this privately. It doesn’t concern me,” Edochie asserted.
His statement comes amid growing speculation after Obasi made explosive allegations during a podcast appearance last week. The ex-husband claimed Austin displayed “unusual obsession” toward Edochie during their marriage, recalling how she would “completely zone out” whenever Edochie appeared on screen.
“She didn’t hide her admiration,” Obasi recounted, presenting what he described as evidence of their relationship prior to her divorce in 2013. Meanwhile, Austin maintains these claims are unfounded, insisting her romantic involvement with Edochie began years after their separation.
The controversy has sparked heated debate across social media platforms, particularly following Edochie’s public acknowledgment of Austin as his second wife. Various public figures have weighed in, making this one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity stories this month.
