Former Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has shared his thoughts with Victor Osimhen regarding his future.
He discouraged Osimhen from rejoining Napoli, suggesting the Premier League as a better option for the striker.
Osimhen, who netted 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 matches for Galatasaray last season, is currently one of the most in-demand players in the transfer market.
In an interview with Footy Africa, Onazi expressed his belief that Arsenal would be the perfect fit for the Nigerian forward.
“I wouldn’t advise Osimhen to go back to Napoli,” Onazi stated. “Ideally, he should move to another club in Italy or, better yet, secure a transfer to England.”
Onazi disclosed that he had previously counseled Osimhen, emphasizing that after leading Napoli to a historic Serie A triumph—mirroring Diego Maradona’s achievement—it was time for a new challenge.
“I reminded him that he matched Maradona’s legacy by winning the Italian title with Napoli, a feat the fans will always cherish. However, if anything goes wrong, those achievements might be overlooked,” Onazi added.
“If I could choose a club for him, I’d pick Arsenal. They require a top striker, their style suits his abilities, and he would thrive with them.”
