Renowned Nigerian rapper and outspoken activist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has opened up about his reservations on raising future children in Nigeria.

In a candid conversation, the multi-talented artist cited the nation’s worsening security crisis and economic instability as major concerns.

The thought-provoking revelation came during his appearance on the Dear Ife Series Podcast, hosted by media personality Ifedayo Agoro.

When confronted with the direct question: “Would you consider raising your kids in Nigeria if you were to have any?”, Falz responded with surprising honesty.

His reply was telling: “Wow! That’s a heavy question. Honestly, I haven’t given it much thought yet, but I can’t confidently say ‘yes’ considering everything we’re facing – the security threats, risks tied to my activism, and the general state of affairs.”

“It breaks my heart to admit this, but I can’t give a definite ‘yes’. At the same time, I can’t completely rule it out because I’m deeply patriotic and still hold hope for Nigeria’s potential. The truth is, I’m torn – we’ll have to wait and see [chuckles].”

Currently unmarried and without children, the socially conscious artist’s remarks highlight the growing concerns among young Nigerians about the country’s future.
