Renowned Nigerian lawyer and human rights advocate, Deji Adeyanju, has strongly criticized Port Harcourt-based pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries.

The fiery response follows Ibiyeomie’s recent threats to arrest and prosecute journalists or bloggers who publish unfavorable reports about him.

A viral video shows the clergyman accusing certain media personalities of deliberately distorting his sermons for malicious purposes. Issuing a stern warning, Ibiyeomie declared zero tolerance for misrepresentation and promised severe consequences for offenders.

He emphasized that no amount of appeals for leniency would sway him, vowing to take uncompromising action against detractors.

“When I decide to confront someone, they’ll send intermediaries begging for mercy. Consider this your final warning. Next time, there won’t be any warnings—just consequences. I know you, young man. Neither your father nor mother will be able to intervene. I will handle this decisively.

People will always be divided—some supporting me, others opposing. But remember, my supporters vastly outnumber critics.

This is a direct message to all my detractors: Take heed now, because when I act, they’ll question how a man of God could curse people or involve law enforcement.

Don’t come crying later about ‘a pastor using police power.’ I will have you arrested without hesitation. No divine intervention will save you.

Stay away from reporting about me. I don’t need your publicity—my message already reaches the world. Whether positive or negative, keep my name out of your publications. This includes any news from this ministry.

Here’s what they do: They fabricate stories to provoke other bloggers. Some of you attending this church are complicit—planted here not to receive blessings but to twist my words.

My philosophy? Strike before being struck. I’m not your typical forgiving pastor. Challenge me, and I’ll fight back fiercely.”

In his rebuttal, Adeyanju pointed out that even Jesus faced criticism without resorting to arrests, questioning Ibiyeomie’s authority to make such threats.
