The relatives of former heavyweight king Anthony Joshua have vowed unwavering support if he decides to resume his boxing career.

Joshua’s path forward remains unclear after the fatal accident in Nigeria, which resulted in the loss of his strength coach, Sina Ghami, and longtime trainer, Latif “Latz” Ayodele.

The British-Nigerian fighter was briefly hospitalized following the crash but has since recovered.

In an exclusive chat with Punch, Joshua’s uncle, Ademola Joshua, emphasized that the family will back his choice, whatever it may be.

“We admire him immensely,” he stated. “Our perspectives as elders differ from his, but ultimately, the decision rests with him. Whatever path he takes, we stand by him.”

He also acknowledged the emotional strain the family endures during Joshua’s fights.

“We’ll support his choice wholeheartedly. Every time he gets knocked down, it’s like a punch to our own hearts. The stress and anxiety we feel during his bouts—it’s overwhelming.”
