Mohbad's Father

Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian music star Mohbad, has confirmed that his son’s burial will proceed only after the DNA test on his grandson, Liam, is completed.

The controversial paternity dispute between Joseph and Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, has delayed the singer’s final rites. In a viral online clip, Aloba emphasized that resolving the DNA matter is crucial before moving forward with burial plans.

He declared, “Today marks the DNA court hearing. My lawyer is present, and I want the world to know that this is the primary issue holding up Mohbad’s burial. Once the DNA results are finalized, we will proceed with the interment without further delay.”

Previously, Amonpoint News detailed Wunmi’s legal efforts to safeguard her late husband’s estate. She filed a formal injunction at the Lagos State High Court to prevent unauthorized administration claims.

A legal letter dated November 19, 2025, from Salawu, Akingbolu & Co. confirmed that Wunmi submitted Forms 5 and 6, legally restricting the issuance of Letters of Administration to non-entitled parties.

The document, signed by I. P. Awo (Esq.), identifies Wunmi as the lawful widow and mother of Mohbad’s sole heir, Liam Aloba. Public notices in major newspapers reinforced the court’s stance against fraudulent estate claims.

The legal team emphasized that the injunction remains enforceable until the estate undergoes proper legal processing.
