Ex-Nigerian football star and former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has hinted that Victor Osimhen might be heading to Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window.
Oliseh noted that the Spanish powerhouse has been keeping a close eye on the prolific forward, with a possible summer switch in the works.
The Napoli icon could fill the void left by Vinicius Jnr, whose future at the club remains uncertain.
Osimhen currently plies his trade for Galatasaray after securing a permanent transfer to the Turkish Super Lig winners last year.
Despite battling injuries, the Super Eagles talisman has already notched six goals in the Champions League this campaign.
Vinicius, meanwhile, has yet to sign an extension with Madrid, as his contract is set to run out in 2027.
Oliseh mentioned in the Insight Podcast that Kylian Mbappé could seamlessly transition back to the left flank should Vinicius depart, paving the way for Osimhen to spearhead the attack as the central striker.
He emphasized that Los Blancos now have the flexibility to part ways with Vinicius without any major repercussions.
“There’s significant behind-the-scenes chatter about Osimhen emerging as a potential candidate. I can’t reveal my source, but the discussions are serious,” he disclosed.
“It’ll be interesting to see how this unfolds. Hearing this from a respected figure definitely excited me for the youngster’s future,” he added.
Osimhen completed a permanent move to Galatasaray in 2025 after leaving Napoli, rejecting lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League in favor of the Turkish champions.
No Nigerian player has ever featured for Real Madrid’s senior squad, though Oladimeji Lawal and Mutiu Adepoju did represent the club’s reserve team in the past.
