Victor Osimhen, Galatasaray’s prolific forward, recently disclosed that Juventus was his preferred destination before his switch to the Süper Lig-winning side.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Super Eagles star opened up about his ambitions to join the Italian giants but acknowledged that Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, blocked any potential move to Turin.
Instead, the Nigerian striker initially joined Galatasaray on a temporary deal before finalizing a full transfer the following season.
“Juventus was an option for me, absolutely,” Osimhen admitted ahead of his team’s Champions League playoff clash against Juventus.
“They were keen on bringing me in… but De Laurentiis refused to sanction a sale to them.
“No doubt, Juventus is among Europe’s elite. When they come calling, it’s hard to ignore.”
