Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James has made her stance clear on her husband maintaining female friendships, insisting she must remain the most important woman in his life.

Celebrity stylist Veekee James has shared her unapologetic views on relationship boundaries during a recent podcast appearance.

The designer revealed her perspective while chatting on VJ Adams’ Off the Top show.

According to James, her spouse Femi Atere is prohibited from having close female friends, as she believes she should be his primary female confidant.

She emphasized that this arrangement works perfectly for their marriage and minimizes conflicts.

“My husband will never have a female best friend – if one exists, I’ll naturally take that position completely,” James stated firmly.

The style icon also addressed past social media backlash, recalling when critics accused her of “stealing” Femi from another woman.

Though the online vitriol temporarily affected her emotionally, James noted she successfully overcame the negativity.

The designer and her partner Femi began their relationship journey with an engagement in 2023 before tying the knot February 10, 2024.

Recently, the couple celebrated completing their first year of marital bliss.
