Michael Achimugu, the official spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has responded to the heated altercation between social media influencers VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof.

Achimugu has stated that both individuals will be held accountable under the law after their physical confrontation aboard a flight at Asaba International Airport on November 17.

Sharing his reaction on X (formerly Twitter), Achimugu posted: ‘’VDM AND MR. JOLLOF

While boarding my flight, I came across a disturbing video showing a violent dispute between these two influencers, who should know better than to engage in such reckless behavior—especially given their responsibility to set examples for their followers.

Due to imminent takeoff, I swiftly requested details to notify our Compliance and Enforcement Officers for immediate investigation.

Upon landing, I discovered my social media post had sparked a barrage of unwarranted insults from those who misunderstood my intentions. However, my focus remains on enforcing aviation regulations.

Standard procedure mandates that the airline involved must report the incident to the NCAA. While awaiting an official report, I reiterate:

Disruptive conduct mid-flight is intolerable. No justification excuses endangering passengers and crew, and both parties will face strict legal repercussions.

Given the potential risks to flight safety, we must determine whether the pilot removed them before departure or allowed them to proceed. Either way, accountability is non-negotiable.

The NCAA has invested heavily in educating flyers on the severe consequences of unruly behavior. This incident undermines those efforts.

A formal statement will follow after I assess all facts, either before my next flight or upon reaching my final destination.

Currently, both influencers are providing statements to authorities at the Delta State Airport Police Command.
