Jigida Queen

Renowned Nigerian entertainer Uche Ibeto, famously known as the Jigida Queen, has launched a scathing rebuke against Abuja-based lawyer Victor Giwa, advising him to “concentrate on his legal battles rather than manipulating public perception through media theatrics.”

Her remarks came in response to an online video where Giwa accused the FCT Judiciary and the Nigeria Police Force of targeting him. Ibeto labeled his claims as “baseless distractions” designed to derail ongoing judicial proceedings.

She revealed she has been following the criminal trials involving Victor Giwa and his associate, Cecil Ezem Osakwe, who face charges of forgery, unlawful eviction, impersonation, and property damage in a case tied to Asabe Waziri. Praising the prosecution’s efforts, she voiced unwavering support for Waziri.

“I admire Asabe Waziri’s bravery in confronting intimidation,”
she stated. “Having endured similar mistreatment, I empathize deeply and stand by you.”

Ibeto commended the Inspector General of Police and the AIG Legal for their diligence and called for equal urgency in addressing her own petitions filed in August.

Her statement revisited a bitter feud over her late mother Esther Ibeto’s property at 36 Ibezim Obiajulu Street, Surulere. She clarified that while her two elder sisters received letters of administration for personal effects, the house was excluded. She maintained decades of residency and possession of the original deed.

She claimed ignorance of any sale or litigation until a July 10, 2025, ruling favored Cecil Ezem Osakwe. Ibeto asserted the judgment was “secured deceitfully” via forged paperwork, fraudulent representation, and procedural irregularities, emphasizing her absence from the case.

Recounting the traumatic August 15 eviction, she accused Giwa of orchestrating a dawn raid with police, hired enforcers, and court officials. She alleged being violently expelled in her sleepwear, with valuables exceeding ₦500 million looted or vandalized. Construction reportedly commenced hours later, while one sister publicly disavowed involvement in the disputed sale.

Ibeto highlighted multiple legal flaws, including undated transaction records, conflicting property records linking the case to an Alimosho address, and improper defendant notifications. She also implicated a high-ranking officer in derailing her Lagos Zone 2 Police petition, enabling further property violations despite law enforcement directives.

She appealed to the Lagos State Government, CJN, IGP, AGF, National Assembly, and NBA to safeguard her petitions and ensure unimpeded justice.

“Victor Giwa must answer in court, not through smear campaigns. The law applies equally,”
she declared, cautioning against his “media deception.”

Demanding accountability for all victims, she disclosed deteriorating health and unstable living conditions since her displacement.

“I deserve to reclaim my home and rebuild my life,” she pleaded. “Gratitude to supporters, law enforcement, and journalists upholding truth.”

The family conflict remains contentious, with Ibeto previously accusing sister Laura Okoh of colluding with judicial personnel to oust her from their shared lifelong residence. Relatives dismissed these claims as fabrications.

Past reports noted Ibeto’s legal team, led by Onwubualili Sylvester, petitioned the Lagos Chief Judge and AIG Zone 2, challenging the property transfer as fraudulently obtained through perjury and document tampering.
