Afrobeats star Seyi Shay has broken her silence on her four-year hiatus from the spotlight, revealing it was a transformative journey of self-discovery and renewal.
The songstress shared that her retreat from the limelight allowed her to reconnect with her inner self, heal past wounds, and cultivate spiritual awakening.
Speaking candidly with Chude Jideonwo, the “Right Now” crooner disclosed that the sabbatical empowered her to reevaluate her priorities, rebuild her mindset, and redefine her life’s direction.
“The last four years were a period of intense personal evolution. My mental shift began even before motherhood. Choosing solitude was pivotal—it gave me space to introspect, gain profound wisdom, and see my future with absolute clarity,” she revealed.
During this period, Seyi Shay embraced motherhood, a phase she credits for elevating her spiritual consciousness and reshaping her perceptions of masculinity and relationships.
“Motherhood and introspection recalibrated my soul. I now move through life on a higher frequency, radiating love and understanding toward men. Truthfully, I embrace them all—it’s truly their world,” she mused.
The superstar also touched on her dynamic with her daughter’s father, emphasizing their harmonious co-parenting relationship despite not being romantically involved.
“Marriage wasn’t the path for us, but we’ve built something beautiful. He’s incredible, very present—a Nigerian music executive based in the UK. We co-parent with mutual respect, blending friendship and teamwork flawlessly,” she elaborated.
