Renowned actress and producer Toyin Abraham has condemned the recent kidnapping of teachers and pupils in Oyo State, revealing how emotionally crushing the crisis has been for her, given her familial and cultural links to the affected areas.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the filmmaker poured out her grief, stating that the persistent violence and abductions across Nigeria—particularly in Oyo State—have left her heartbroken.
She extended her condolences to grieving families, especially parents whose children remain missing, emphasizing that no citizen should endure the trauma of waking up to reports of terror and bloodshed.
Though she acknowledged the efforts of security forces and state authorities, Abraham demanded swifter, more decisive action to rescue hostages and reinforce safety measures in vulnerable communities.
She also challenged government leaders to outline concrete strategies for preventing future attacks and restoring public confidence.
The actress called for national solidarity, urging Nigerians to unite against the rising tide of violence and refuse to accept insecurity as a way of life.
Abraham’s outcry comes amid reports of a beheaded teacher and multiple fatalities in recent attacks across Oyo and Katsina States.
