Renowned American streamer IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., has lauded Nigeria’s version of jollof rice, crowning it the ultimate winner in the fierce West African jollof rivalry.

During his latest livestream from Lagos on Wednesday, the content creator settled the long-standing jollof debate with his bold declaration.

Fresh from Senegal, where he covered the AFCON trophy celebrations, Speed didn’t hold back in his comparison—firmly placing Nigerian jollof above its Senegalese counterpart.

“Nigerian jollof rice is incredible. The flavors are deeper, richer—it’s straight-up better than Senegal’s version,” he proclaimed.

“After tasting both, Nigeria takes the crown for the best jollof rice—no contest,” he added.
