Tiwa Savage

Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has finally broken her silence on the infamous feud with Seyi Shay, shedding light on the heated salon encounter that captivated fans years ago.

During a candid chat on Off Air with Gbemi O and Toolz, the award-winning artist revealed the truth behind their rift, tracing it back to a controversial diss track and unfounded claims about career sabotage.

Tiwa passionately denied ever obstructing opportunities for fellow female artists, emphasizing her unwavering support for women in music.

“I’m direct—if you cross me, I’ll address it privately. Unlike others, I won’t fake camaraderie in public spaces after you’ve released a diss track,”
she asserted.

The “Koroba” hitmaker expressed genuine surprise upon hearing accusations that she allegedly blocked lucrative deals for Seyi Shay and Victoria Kimani.

“That cut deep because it was completely baseless. Maybe Seyi and I need to have that overdue conversation,”

“If anyone claims I interfered with your career, name them so I can respond directly. I champion women’s success—never would I undermine it.”

In a revealing twist, Tiwa recalled losing a major Pepsi endorsement to Seyi Shay during her postpartum period, contradicting sabotage allegations.

“When I was pregnant with Jamil, Pepsi replaced me with Shay for their Longer Throat campaign—that’s documented,”

“Rather than resent her, I focused on rebuilding my physique. That’s the truth behind these ‘blocked bag’ rumors.”

The 2021 salon showdown became Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity clash, with leaked videos showing Tiwa confronting Seyi about their fractured friendship.

While Seyi previously claimed reconciliation attempts, Tiwa’s latest statements suggest unresolved tensions rooted in industry gossip and misinterpretations.

Their rivalry dates back to 2017 when Seyi’s verse in Kiss Daniel’s ‘Fvck You Challenge’ appeared to target Tiwa, sparking years of subliminal exchanges and public speculation.
