Kim Jong Suk

South Korea mourns the tragic passing of Kim Jong Suk, a beloved model and reality TV star, whose untimely demise has ignited a storm of speculation and controversy.

The 29-year-old, known for his appearances on the hit show “Skip Dating,” died suddenly on June 4 amid swirling reports of a violent altercation at a high-rise apartment in Hanam, Gyeonggi province. Local accounts described a heated argument involving a smashed bottle before a fatal plunge.

Whispers quickly circulated that Suk had taken his own life to evade police involvement, though no official statement confirmed these rumors.

His grief-stricken family broke their silence on June 6 during funeral arrangements but remained tight-lipped about the precise circumstances surrounding his death.

The narrative took an emotional turn when Suk’s sister lashed out on social media against accusations that he had physically attacked his girlfriend.

In a raw, heartfelt post, she protested: “These baseless rumors are tearing our family apart with every false word shared.”

Days later, she unveiled a shocking revelation—her brother had allegedly been swindled in a devastating investment scam, leaving him financially and emotionally shattered.

She clarified: “Contrary to gossip, he never drunkenly stormed into his girlfriend’s home wielding a soju bottle or fled from authorities.”

“This scam drained his entire life savings and buried him in debt,” she continued. “The crushing weight of betrayal left him broken—he’d been silently suffering for months.”

Before his rise to fame, Suk captivated audiences as a sought-after fashion model before transitioning into reality TV, where his charm earned him a loyal fanbase.

In his final days, social media posts hinted at his struggles, though his family has since locked all accounts to guard his digital legacy.

While acknowledging an argument occurred between Suk and his partner, his sister emphatically denied claims of violence:

“After failing to reach her, Jong Suk—accompanied by a friend—went to check on his girlfriend out of concern. Their dispute was just a couple’s quarrel, nothing more.”

“When bystanders escalated tensions, his friend shattered a bottle, prompting the police call. To suggest he panicked and ran is a total fabrication.”

She vowed to release private messages and police audio recordings to clear his name, warning of legal action against media outlets fueling misinformation.
