Armed assailants stormed the residence of Engr. Apollos Samchi in Rantya, Jos South, kidnapping his three daughters in a terrifying overnight attack.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident unfolded around 12:53 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, after gunfire erupted near Dumac Suites, prompting a distress call to security forces.

The kidnappers, suspected to be part of a criminal syndicate, overpowered the family’s security personnel, shooting guard Benard Makjwan in the abdomen before fleeing with the victims.

Makjwan was swiftly transported to Bingham University Teaching Hospital, where he remains under medical care.

“Initial reports indicate the attackers forcibly entered Engr. Samchi’s residence, seizing his daughters—Nanlop, Kyenret, and Favour—before escaping into the night,” a security insider revealed.

Authorities have launched a multi-agency manhunt involving military and police units to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe release of the abducted girls.
