The generous gesture unfolded after Tems fired back at critics who kept debating her physique, particularly her curves.
The Grammy-winning artist vented, “Okay, seven years in—time to shut it down. Never thought I’d say this, but you all are weird. ‘It’s small, it’s flat, it’s fat.’ Bro, IT’S MINE. ‘Show us your bumbum’ lol, so I’ll turn and say, ‘here 🥰.’ Nah, how about YOU show me yours first?? See how weird that sounds? It’s just a body. My weight will change. I never hid it—I just didn’t owe anyone proof. The more you hate it, the better for me. But enough now. Move on from my bum.”
This came after someone sniped, “Real ones know she’s just got thick thighs, not an actual behind.”
Tems’ clapback stirred a frenzy online, leading her manager Awoniyi—famously known as @IAmDonawon—to weigh in: “Not a single sensible take on this app. Not even half.”
Another user quickly challenged him: “One person dissed her bum, yet you’re dragging the whole app? Wetin be this, omo werey?”
They argued that Awoniyi shouldn’t generalize when only one person made the comment.
Jumping to his defense, @chidimmaibe countered: “It wasn’t just one person. That’s just one example—plenty more foolish tweets out there.”
