Nollywood star Taye Arimoro has fired back at the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), and Association of Movie Producers (AMP) following his industry-wide suspension.
The three organizations issued a joint statement on Friday, banning Arimoro from film projects after an alleged clash on set with actress Peggy Ovire.
Amonpoint News previously revealed that AGN president Emeka Rollas announced the suspension via social media, stating the decision was made to maintain professionalism and rebuild confidence within the entertainment industry.
A disciplinary committee report dated November 27, 2025, concluded Arimoro instigated the conflict, physically confronting crew members and later sharing distorted footage that implicated Ovire despite her absence during the initial dispute.
The joint ruling mandates Arimoro’s indefinite ban from Nollywood productions pending corrective actions, including public apologies to affected parties and retracting his controversial social media posts.
The actor must also return under supervision to complete his scenes in the disputed film and comply with any additional guild directives.
Defiant in response, Arimoro took to Instagram with a cryptic message questioning the legitimacy of the investigation, writing: “Someone should tell these folks to quit the drama. What exactly did they investigate? I might just go live soon.”
