The Nigerian Super Falcons’ much-anticipated training tour in the UK has been canceled following the unexpected withdrawal of their slated opponents, Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz.

Originally scheduled for May 23–28, the friendly match was meant to be a crucial warm-up ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Sources reveal that logistical challenges on Jamaica’s end forced the abrupt cancellation.

This marks the second pre-tournament disruption for the nine-time African champions after Cape Verde also pulled out of a planned two-legged friendly last month.

With no alternative arrangements secured, coach Justine Madugu’s squad must now regroup during June’s FIFA international window. Their most recent match saw a dominant 3-1 triumph over Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses in March.

All focus now shifts to Morocco, where the Falcons will defend their WAFCON title this July as Africa’s most successful women’s national team.
