Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has revealed that the team is still awaiting the $100,000 reward and other pledges made by the Federal Government following their triumph at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Speaking with Chude Jideonwo, Ajibade shared her frustration over the unpaid bonuses and unfulfilled commitments.
Chude inquired, “Have they delivered the $100,000”?
“The money hasn’t been paid yet, but we hope it will come soon. None of the promises have been fulfilled—we’ve received nothing,” she responded.
Under Ajibade’s leadership, the Super Falcons secured their historic WAFCON title in Morocco.
After their victory, President Bola Tinubu honored the team and coaching staff with national awards, bestowing the Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) upon them.
Additionally, each player was promised $100,000 and a three-bedroom house.
During their reception at the Presidential Villa, Tinubu commended the squad for their “unyielding determination and bravery,” celebrating their win as a landmark moment for Nigerian football.
