Super Eagles

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to earn a lucrative $50,000 bonus for every goal they score in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff showdown against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Fresh off their dominant 4-1 triumph over Gabon last week, which secured them $120,000 in performance-based incentives, the team aims to continue their winning momentum.

Each goal scored against Gabon’s Panthers earned the squad $30,000, a strategy backed by the National Sports Commission (NSC) and anonymous corporate sponsors.

This financial boost is designed to galvanize the team as they push for qualification to the 2026 World Cup.

Victory in tonight’s high-stakes match will propel either Nigeria or DR Congo into the Intercontinental playoffs, scheduled for March 2025 in Mexico.
