The Super Eagles of Nigeria, three-time African champions, touched down in Fez on Tuesday as they gear up for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco 2025, aiming to secure their elusive fourth continental title.
Clad in striking green kaftans featuring exquisite floral patterns and coordinated caps, the squad, under the guidance of coach Eric Sekou Chelle, flew from Cairo midday and landed in Fez later that evening.

Their delayed arrival led to the cancellation of their scheduled training session in Fez, but preparations are set to commence today in the historic city, renowned as one of Morocco’s imperial gems and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Before heading to Fez, the Super Eagles underwent a five-day training camp in Cairo, where they suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Egypt’s Pharaohs in their sole pre-tournament friendly.

Drawn into Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda, Nigeria’s quest for glory begins next Tuesday against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania, followed by clashes with Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles on December 27 and Uganda’s Cranes on December 30.
