Super Eagles

Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, have experienced a slight decline in the recent FIFA men’s world rankings, slipping to 45th place from their previous 44th position.

The three-time African champions now occupy sixth place in the continent’s standings, trailing behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Côte d’Ivoire.

Morocco remains Africa’s highest-ranked team, holding 11th place globally.

Spain has overtaken Argentina to claim the top spot, while Slovakia surged impressively with a 10-place rise.

The Super Eagles recently earned four points from their 2026 World Cup qualifiers, securing a narrow 1-0 win against Rwanda and a hard-fought 1-1 draw with South Africa.
