Super Eagles skipper William Troost-Ekong has confirmed he has no intention of retiring from international football anytime soon but stressed he will bow out when the moment is appropriate.
During a recent chat with Punch, he was questioned about whether he had ever considered ending his national team career.
Troost-Ekong, a long-standing defensive stalwart for the Super Eagles, reiterated his dedication to Nigeria, expressing confidence in his current fitness and form to continue performing at the top level.
Still, the 31-year-old defender acknowledged the significance of recognizing the right time to exit.
“No, not yet. I’m 31 now, and I still feel physically and mentally sharp. When it’s time for me to move on, I’ll know. I’ll be the first to admit, ‘I’m finished.’ I won’t linger beyond my time. But right now, that’s not on my mind. I still believe I can contribute to the team.” he stated.
