Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has called on rising music stars to prepare for the emotional toll of fame by securing professional mental health support from the outset.

The “Zanku” hitmaker shared this unconventional career tip in a candid social media post on Thursday.

He emphasized that both artists and their management teams should allocate funds for therapy sessions just as they budget for marketing campaigns.

Taking to his X account, the musician tweeted, “For every fast-rising artist you know – while saving for promotion, remember to stack up therapist money too, trust me you’ll need it lol!!!”

This advice highlights the growing recognition of the music industry’s psychological challenges.

Recent years have seen numerous Nigerian artists publicly discuss their mental health struggles amidst the pressures of stardom.

Notably, singer Omah Lay revealed in 2022 that his mental health deteriorated further following an inappropriate relationship with his therapist.
