Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop has voiced his strong reaction to Rita Daniels’ unexpected loss in the AGN presidential election.
Rita had thrown her hat in the ring for the Actors Guild leadership, competing against the well-entrenched Abubakar Yakubu.
The much-anticipated election unfolded on Saturday, December 6, 2025, during the Guild’s Annual General Meeting held in Benin City, Edo State, where members sought to choose a successor to outgoing president Emeka Rollas.
Earlier reports by Amonpoint News confirmed that Rita failed to secure victory against her challenger, Abubakar Yakubu.
Expressing his dismay, Stanley Ontop called the election result unjust, suggesting foul play influenced the outcome. He insinuated that Rita would have emerged victorious if not for alleged political interference from Abuja. According to Stanley, the voting process was compromised by delegates susceptible to external influence.
“The AGN election results are deeply troubling. Hon Rita Daniels deserved a fair process, free from the alleged meddling by powerful figures in Abuja.
While I recognize the other victors, the presidential race outcome reeks of irregularities.
It’s disheartening to witness delegates trading the Guild’s credibility for personal benefits.
Reports indicate substantial payouts were made to sway state delegates.
What a disgrace!!!
@rita.daniels06 will always be my champion!
Ontop stands with integrity!!!”.
