Afrobeats sensation Spyro didn’t hold back during his electrifying performance at the high-profile gathering celebrating Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno’s defection to the APC in Uyo on Saturday. With a charged-up crowd before him, the artist voiced the frustrations of millions, declaring Nigeria’s current economic struggles “too much to bear.”

Nigerian music star Spyro, born Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, made a bold plea to the nation’s leaders during his headline performance—step up and act now.

Addressing a star-studded audience that included Governor Umo Eno, the artist shed light on the harsh realities facing ordinary citizens. His words cut through the fanfare: “Big respect to His Excellency—what you’re doing for Akwa Ibom inspires us. But let’s keep it real—Nigeria is breaking under pressure. Our leaders need to move faster; the suffering is too much.”

The high-voltage event drew political heavyweights, including Vice President Kashim Shettima (representing President Tinubu), APC Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and governors from Cross River, Lagos, Sokoto, and 21 other APC-led states.

As the cameras flashed, Spyro’s message echoed beyond the venue: “Follow Governor Eno’s example—but push harder. The people deserve better.”
