Sophia Momodu, a prominent Nigerian businesswoman and the mother of Davido’s first child, has publicly addressed misconceptions about her relationship with the award-winning artist.
During a recent live session, the fashion entrepreneur expressed discomfort over being mistakenly labeled as Davido’s spouse, despite their separation years ago and his subsequent marriage.
She stressed the importance of acknowledging personal boundaries and respecting current relationships, noting that such incorrect references could cause unnecessary tension.
Sophia made it clear that she has long moved forward in her life and encouraged fans to do the same, emphasizing mutual respect.
“A content creator once greeted me as ‘Davido’s wife,’ and I was taken aback because that’s not my reality.
“I’m not his wife, and it’s time to stop associating me that way. Let’s honor people’s current relationships and choices. Everyone deserves to live their truth without outdated labels,” she stated firmly.
