Renowned rapper Snoop Dogg has taken on a co-ownership role with Championship team Swansea City.

The Welsh club confirmed the news in an official statement.

The 53-year-old music icon joins former Real Madrid legend and Croatian World Cup star Luka Modric in the club’s ownership group.

Snoop Dogg recently surprised fans by appearing on the club’s social media showcasing their new 2025-26 home kit, and on Thursday, the team announced his official investment.

His involvement follows the takeover of Swansea last November by American entrepreneurs Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen.

The club hopes Snoop Dogg—born Calvin Broadus—can leverage his massive social media following of over 100 million to elevate Swansea’s global profile as they aim for Premier League promotion, last achieved in 2018.

Swansea’s leadership aims to increase revenue to comply with financial regulations while strengthening the squad.

In a statement on the club’s website, the rapper said: “Football has always been a passion of mine, but joining Swansea City as an owner feels like destiny.

“The club’s identity resonated with me—a hardworking, resilient underdog, much like my own journey.

“I’m thrilled to be part of this proud community.”

Earlier this year, Swansea revealed Modric’s stake in the club, shortly before the veteran midfielder signed with AC Milan.

“As Snoop might say, this is Swansea’s ‘next episode’—expanding our reach worldwide,” the club’s owners stated.

“His immense fanbase will amplify our ambitions, and his enthusiasm for the project is unmistakable.

“His football passion aligns perfectly with our goal to build a competitive squad.”

The move mirrors Welsh rivals Wrexham’s Hollywood-fueled rise under actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney since 2020.
