Ifunanya Nwangene

Uche Nworah, an educator and cultural advocate based in London, has shed light on unsettling details regarding the repatriation of the remains of renowned singer Ifunanya Nwangene, widely known as Nanyah, from Abuja to her hometown in Enugu.

Taking to Facebook, Nworah revealed that he received a firsthand account from Ifunanya’s uncle during a private phone conversation.

Having maintained a long-standing online friendship with the uncle through social media, Nworah felt compelled to share these insights to dispel circulating misinformation.

Contrary to initial reports, Nworah clarified that the late artist did not reside on the ground floor of her Abuja home but rather occupied the second floor of the building.

This revelation casts doubt on prevailing theories suggesting snakes could have entered her living space through drainage systems, which are typically associated with ground-floor residences.

Nworah further disclosed an eerie occurrence during the transportation of Ifunanya’s remains to Enugu for burial in accordance with her father’s final wishes.

According to the account, the ambulance carrying her body experienced an unexpected breakdown along Abuja Expressway, requiring a replacement vehicle.

While awaiting the new ambulance, bystanders reportedly spotted and subsequently dispatched a snake lurking beneath the immobilized vehicle.

Nworah acknowledged that while some may dismiss these events as mere coincidences, others might find them deeply unsettling and worth contemplation.

In his own words: “Beyond the viral narratives, I received direct information from Ifunanya’s uncle, whom I’ve known virtually for years. His revelations challenged existing reports and presented puzzling details.

“Contrary to widespread assumptions, he confirmed Ifunanya lived upstairs, not on the ground floor, making theories about reptilian intrusion via drainage less credible.

“Additionally, he recounted an inexplicable occurrence during the journey to Enugu – the ambulance’s breakdown followed by the discovery of a serpent beneath it, which was quickly dealt with.

“Whether these incidents are connected remains uncertain, but they undoubtedly invite further consideration.”
