Popular Nigerian vocalist Waje has opened up about her personal battles with self-doubt and body confidence issues, recounting her journey toward self-acceptance.
During a heartfelt conversation on Tope Olowoniyan’s “Her Next Chapter” podcast, the award-winning artist disclosed that she once layered bras in her youth due to insecurities about her physique.
“Long before motherhood, I struggled with my proportions. I felt the need to conceal myself—wearing multiple bras was my way of coping. It took years to embrace how I was naturally built,” she shared.
The songstress revealed that maturity, motherhood, and the support of close friends like M.I and Kaffy helped her develop resilience against criticism.
“In my 20s, I masked my insecurities—layering bras just to feel ‘normal.’ Now, I own my truth.”
