Stanley Omah Didia, the chart-topping Afrobeats sensation widely known as Omah Lay, has sparked debate by asserting that Nigeria’s challenges require more than just faith-based solutions.
The artist emphasized that tangible action, not just spiritual appeals, is essential for transformative progress in the nation.
“No Jesus, no Allah, no prayer is saving us. Nothing changes until we wake TF up,” he declared in a recent post on his X account.

His remarks come amid growing calls from religious leaders for divine intervention as Nigeria grapples with rising insecurity and economic instability.
Fellow artists, including Don Jazzy, Davido, and Mr Macaroni, have also voiced concerns following recent attacks on a Kwara church and the abduction of students in Kebbi, urging swift governmental action.
Earlier this week, Yemi Alade criticized proposals for foreign assistance, stating, “African problems need African solutions—not new problems.”
