Sarah Martins

Nollywood star Sarah Martins has shared heartwarming news—Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, contributed ₦20 million to bolster her philanthropic efforts.

This generous act follows her recent detainment by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC/KAI) for allegedly flouting environmental regulations.

The actress was taken into custody on Thursday while conducting a free food outreach in Lekki Phase 1’s Admiralty area. Authorities cited violations of street vending laws under the LAGESC/KAI mandate.

Tokunbo Wahab, Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, clarified that her activities breached regulations prohibiting food preparation on public roads.

In an emotional Instagram video, Martins disclosed that Seyi Tinubu not only provided financial backing but also pledged to elevate her initiative. A representative handed her an envelope containing ₦20 million, emphasizing Tinubu’s admiration for her humanitarian work.

“He wants you to secure a proper space for your outreach—somewhere safe and sustainable,” the envoy explained. “This funding is for securing a shop. Once that’s done, he’ll furnish it with industrial-grade equipment to help scale your efforts.”

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Martins described the gesture as transformative: “From disgrace to grace! Seyi Tinubu didn’t just support my NGO—he promised to take my mission nationwide. Words fail me. Thank you for helping us brighten lives.”

Her street cooking initiative, born from compassion, aims to provide meals for struggling families. “I wanted to be a beacon of hope,” she shared. “Now, with this support, we can reach even more people.”

Martins, who debuted in Nollywood in 2004, gained acclaim through films like “The Widows” and “Dangerous Mad Man.” Yet, her recent humanitarian work has captured widespread admiration.
