Legendary Nigerian artist Seyi Sodimu has shared his take on the cultural dominance of Afrobeats’ leading trio—Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
During a candid conversation on Korty EO’s *What I Know* podcast alongside actress Shaffy Bello, the *Love Me Jeje* hitmaker highlighted the distinct forms of influence each superstar commands.
According to Sodimu, Wizkid possesses an exceptional aura, Burna Boy thrives through his artistry, while Davido’s impact transcends the music scene entirely.
He even suggested that Davido’s mass appeal could secure him a political victory, a feat he believes Burna Boy might struggle to achieve.
“The Afrobeats Big 3 dominate for different reasons. Burna Boy owns the stage—brilliantly. Wizkid is one-of-a-kind. But Davido? His reach goes beyond music.”
“Imagine Davido running for governor—he’d win in a landslide. I don’t see Burna Boy pulling that off,” he added.
This isn’t the first time Davido’s political potential has been discussed. Last year, ex-senator Ben Murray-Bruce predicted the superstar could one day govern Osun State.
Interestingly, Davido’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, currently holds the state’s top office.
