Renowned Nigerian artist Seyi Shay has strongly opposed the controversial belief that men are insignificant, calling it a harmful ideology.
She emphasized that dismissing the role of men in society could lead to damaging consequences.
The singer argued that women raised with strong paternal influence often develop better emotional stability and higher moral standards compared to those without such guidance.
According to her, the notion that “men don’t matter” is a deceptive tactic designed to weaken family structures.
During a candid conversation on The Honest Bunch podcast, she stated, “Women with present fathers typically exhibit greater stability. They benefit from better education and stronger ethical foundations during their formative years.”
“Additionally, they set higher standards in relationships and friendships. The idea that men are irrelevant is nonsense—it’s a deliberate ploy to fracture families and produce more emotionally damaged individuals.”
The celebrated vocalist, now 39, expressed relief over not having a daughter in her younger years, highlighting her current wisdom and readiness to raise a child effectively.
She added that her life lessons empower her to mentor her future daughter, helping her avoid pitfalls in relationships, friendships, and personal growth.
