Nigerian entertainer and social media personality Yhemolee has called out Seun Kuti for allegedly tarnishing the Kuti family’s reputation amid his online clash with Wizkid.

Sharing his perspective on the dispute, Yhemolee argued that Seun initiated the controversy, sparking an unexpected backlash from younger generations.

In a Snapchat post, he pointed out that many fans engaging in the feud have little familiarity with Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s legacy, as their musical influence primarily stems from Wizkid.

Yhemolee emphasized Wizkid’s generational impact, noting that his fanbase connects deeply with his music while Fela remains a historical figure to them.

He wrote: “The blame falls on Seun Kuti! These fans he’s cursing barely remember Fela. Wizkid is their legend—they’ve grown up with his journey from ‘Holla at Your Boy’ to now! Some of us only know Fela from history books or brief exposure. Most kids can’t recite more than one Fela song, but they can sing 200 Wizkid hits effortlessly.

“This generation has no patience for unnecessary drama. You’re the one dragging the Kuti name through the mud by clashing with random people online for days. Even your innocent wife got dragged into it—Nigerians would never disrespect Fela if not for your antics! Pick up your saxophone, bro—leave the fan wars alone.”

He further highlighted that Fela passed away nearly three decades ago, meaning younger audiences lack firsthand knowledge of his cultural significance.

Yhemolee concluded that Seun’s confrontations with Wizkid’s fans have inadvertently led to unwarranted disrespect toward Fela’s legacy.

“You’re not the only Kuti offspring—why take on an entire fandom alone? You provoked Wizkid knowing how fiery his responses can be. I never thought I’d see Fela’s name dragged like this. He’s been gone for 29 years—today’s teens weren’t even born when he was alive! Who are you really fighting?”
