Afrobeats star Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known as Ruger, has voiced his concerns on X about the alarming rise of kidnapping incidents across Nigeria.
The singer expressed deep fear, emphasizing that abduction has evolved into a lucrative criminal enterprise within the nation.
Sharing his anxiety on social media, Ruger warned that international visitors and returning locals are prime targets for kidnappers who assume they possess substantial wealth.
“This December has me worried. Certain regions in Nigeria now treat kidnapping like a thriving industry—and the situation will only escalate during the holidays. Nigerians abroad and those traveling home for celebrations are at serious risk. These criminals won’t hold back,” he wrote.
