Nigerian musician Ruger has finally addressed rumors of a rift between him and Afrobeats star Davido, dismissing claims of animosity between them.
Speculations of tension arose after Ruger openly praised Wizkid and his fanbase, leading some Davido supporters to accuse him of taking sides in the long-standing rivalry between the two music giants.
A Davido fan recently took to X, suggesting Ruger’s career would remain stagnant unless he issued a public apology to the “Unavailable” crooner.
“Your track won’t top charts until you publicly beg Davido,” the fan commented.
Ruger shot back, questioning the basis of the accusation: “Did Davido personally tell you I offended him?”
In a follow-up post, the singer clarified that he holds no grudge against Davido and believes the feeling is mutual.
He further asserted that unless the DMW boss explicitly states otherwise, he refuses to accept any narrative of bad blood between them.
“I respect Davido deeply, and I’m sure he respects me too. His team still shares my work.
Unless he says otherwise to me directly or in public, I’ll never believe these rumors. But if he does, trust me, things will get messy,” Ruger added.
