Sarz

Renowned music producer and industry leader Osabuohien Osaretin, widely recognized as Sarz, has opened up about the struggles creatives face due to Nigeria’s poor infrastructure, particularly its erratic power supply.

During a candid conversation on the Afropolitan podcast, Sarz highlighted how frequent power outages disrupt creative momentum, often stifling inspiration when it matters most.

The award-winning producer, a lifelong resident of Nigeria, revealed he’s yet to experience an uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply in the country.

“Imagine waking up with a burst of creative energy, ready to produce music, only to be stuck in darkness. That’s our reality.

Sometimes, even fueling generators becomes impossible due to shortages or strikes. Those moments of wasted potential add up,” he shared.

“Creativity thrives on consistency. When basic infrastructure fails us daily, it’s more than an inconvenience—it’s a barrier to excellence,” Sarz emphasized.

He stressed that Nigeria’s entertainment sector cannot reach its full potential without addressing fundamental issues like stable power.
