Gaise Baba

Celebrated Nigerian gospel artist Akinade Ibuoye, widely recognized as Gaise Baba, has opened up about his deeply personal battles with temptation, addiction, and his transformative journey into music and spiritual calling.

The vocalist disclosed that while he entered marriage as a virgin, his path to maintaining s*xual integrity was fraught with challenges and setbacks.

During a candid conversation with Chude, Gaise Baba confessed his early exposure to explicit content at 15, which spiraled into a consuming addiction despite his solemn vow to remain pure.

“Indeed, I was a virgin when I married—both my wife and I. But the road to that moment wasn’t straightforward. At 15, I stumbled into explicit material. There’s this concept of purity covenants—where you pledge abstinence until marriage. I hastily wrote mine, signed it, and even presented it to my pastor, declaring my commitment.

“Ironically, right after that, my struggle with p0rnography intensified. I learned firsthand that under certain pressures, anyone can falter.”

Gaise Baba also reflected on the profound impact of his chart-topping single, No Turning Back, featuring Lawrence Oyor.

The 2025 release became a cultural phenomenon, catapulting his career to new heights during a period of personal grief.

He revealed that his rise to prominence coincided with the heartbreaking loss of his mother.

“This defining chapter of my life began just weeks after my mother’s passing. Success found me when I’d stopped chasing it.”
