Legendary Yoruba film star Dele Odule has shared a harrowing chapter from his past, admitting he reached such depths of despair that he actively researched funeral caskets during a career low point.

The acclaimed performer bared his soul in a raw conversation with Feelright TV, where he recounted how fellow actor Olaiya Igwe broke down in tears upon witnessing his emotional state.

“During that hopeless phase, I visited a coffin maker to inquire about prices,” Odule confessed in Yoruba. “Olaiya Igwe accompanied me and couldn’t hold back his tears seeing me in that condition.”

Contrary to assumptions about health struggles, Odule clarified his despair stemmed from perceived stagnation in his acting journey while watching peers surpass him professionally.

“There was no illness involved—just overwhelming frustration with my stalled career progression as others flourished around me,” he explained. “I felt completely drained, like my life had lost all meaning.”

The veteran actor, who rose to prominence in the 1970s and later starred in the groundbreaking film “Ti Oluwa Nile,” offered this vulnerable revelation in a recent viral interview.
