Renowned relationship coach, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has stood up for Rita Daniels following her daughter, actress Regina Daniels’ marriage to Ned Nwoko.
In a recent social media post, Blessing CEO lashed out at Nigerians criticizing Rita for supporting her daughter’s marital decision.
Defending Rita, Blessing CEO highlighted that many young adults, like Regina, often defy parental guidance and make independent choices.
“Enough of this ‘I blame the mother’ nonsense. Seriously, stop it! At what age did you start rebelling? When did you sneak out to meet a man? At what age did you get pregnant or run away from home?
I was stubborn at 15—my parents tried everything. When I decided to marry, my mother pleaded with me. My father even woke me at 3 a.m., begging me not to go through with it. He asked, ‘What can a man give you that I can’t?’ I was at the University of Calabar then. My family was well-off, yet I made my own choice.
Young people often make mistakes. Stop the unnecessary criticism. I’ve seen the comments about Regina Daniels, and honestly, it’s laughable.”
Blessing also criticized those mocking Regina for opening up about her marriage struggles. She pointed out the hypocrisy of encouraging women to speak out against abuse, only to ridicule them when they do.
