A Nigerian medical practitioner, Dr. Chidi A. Okoroafor, has dismissed speculation that actress Regina Daniels manipulated her recent drug test results through detoxification or abstinence.
Dr. Okoroafor responded on Facebook to public skepticism surrounding Regina Daniels’ negative drug screening, criticizing claims that she had undergone detox abroad.
He stated: “Whenever I hear ‘she detoxified abroad before testing,’ I immediately distance myself from such baseless assumptions.”
He further remarked: “Detoxification isn’t as simple as flushing out toxins—otherwise, rehabilitation centers would be obsolete. If it were that easy, why do families repeatedly send loved ones to rehab?”

Meanwhile, Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels’ estranged husband, issued a statement addressing the controversy.
Titled “Deceptive Appearances: Abstinence ≠ Sobriety,” his statement emphasized: “A negative test after a period of abstinence doesn’t erase prior substance use. It merely confirms temporary avoidance—not long-term recovery.”
“Earlier medical findings remain valid, and the initial concerns that prompted intervention haven’t been nullified,” he added.
