Nigerian musician Samuel Ojeogwu, widely recognized as Sammy West and elder sibling of Nollywood star Regina Daniels, has broken his silence following his controversial detention alongside Ann, a confidante of the actress, in an incident rumored to involve billionaire lawmaker Ned Nwoko.

The artist took to his Instagram story on January 14 to announce their release, disclosing that the court proceedings had been postponed until March 5, 2026.

Their arrest earlier sparked outrage across social platforms after footage emerged showing armed operatives escorting them from their home, fueling speculation about political interference in the case.

Sammy West recounted what he called “degrading treatment” during their transfer to Abuja, alleging stark disparities in their handling – claiming he endured a 12-hour road trip in restraints while Ann was reportedly flown privately.

“Why this wickedness? Twelve hours in chains on the road while she gets private jet treatment,”
he questioned in a social media update.

The musician accused authorities of employing intimidation tactics through procedural irregularities, including restricted access to counsel and delayed disclosure of court details.

“Same playbook. No access to lawyers or family. No information about court location until the final hour. Now we wait till March,”
his post continued.

He later confirmed Ann’s release in a subsequent update, referring to her affectionately as “My T.E.D.” – an apparent acronym whose meaning remains private between them.

The case continues to raise questions about judicial transparency, with growing public demand for clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding their detention.
