Afrobeats sensation and business mogul Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has sparked conversations with his bold declaration of political aspirations.
The chart-topping artist, celebrated for hits like ‘Skin Tight,’ recently tied the knot with Temi Otedola, daughter of renowned billionaire Femi Otedola. In a candid Snapchat video, he surprised fans by announcing his future plans to lead an African nation.
Reflecting on his vision, the musician shared his long-standing contemplation of stepping into governance.
“This idea has weighed on me for some time. Today, I’m ready to share it. You might be from an African nation seeking a leader—someone youthful, progressive, and driven by purpose rather than power or wealth,” he stated passionately.
“I proudly present myself as a presidential candidate,” Mr Eazi proclaimed, marking a potential shift from entertainment to governance.
Born in Nigeria but deeply connected to Ghana—where he pursued education and kickstarted his musical journey—the artist credited Ghana for shaping his signature “Banku Music” sound.
This revelation follows a growing trend of African entertainers embracing politics. From actor Eniola Badmus expressing senatorial ambitions to veteran lawmaker Ben Bruce predicting Davido’s future in Osun State governance, the lines between showbiz and public service continue to blur.
