Reality TV sensation Tacha Akide has fired back at Nigerians who constantly disparage Lagos State, calling out the hypocrisy behind such criticisms.

In a viral social media clip, the outspoken star highlighted how Lagos bears the brunt of mass migration from other states due to lack of opportunities elsewhere.

She challenged detractors to examine what their home states have contributed before pointing fingers at Lagos.

‘When people complain about Lagos being overcrowded, dirty, or filled with beggars, they’re missing the bigger picture. Lagos isn’t the issue—it’s merely reflecting Nigeria’s deeper problems.

“With 36 states in Nigeria, why does Lagos shoulder the burden for the entire nation? Over 20 million Nigerians—not foreigners—flock here because their states offer nothing.

“Managing Nigerians isn’t easy—just ask anyone who’s tried. The real mystery is why everyone converges in Lagos. Simple: most governors fail their people.

“Eight years in office, yet zero jobs, crumbling infrastructure, dead economies. No accountability, no progress. Where else can people go but Lagos?

“If even 10 states performed half as well as Lagos, the pressure would ease. But right now? The rest of Nigeria might as well be comatose,” she declared.
