Don Jazzy

Music mogul Don Jazzy has set the record straight about a long-standing rumor concerning a past legal matter in the UK, clarifying details that had been misrepresented by his former colleague.

The conversation resurfaced when producer Bankulli shared an anecdote at a public gathering, recalling an incident from Don Jazzy’s early days abroad. According to Bankulli, the Mavin Records boss once avoided police scrutiny after a car crash by allegedly removing his license plate and leaving the scene.

In his retelling, Bankulli painted a dramatic picture: “Don Jazzy was just trying to make ends meet in London at the time. After performing at a show, he dozed off at the wheel and wrecked his car. When the cops showed up, he supposedly took off the plates and bolted—figured the towing fees would cost more than the beat-up ride was worth.”

Social media erupted with concern following these comments, with one alarmed fan tweeting: “This careless storytelling could haunt Don Jazzy! UK authorities might reopen old cases if they catch wind of this.”

Always quick to clarify misinformation, Don Jazzy took to X (formerly Twitter) with his version of events. “Everyone relax,” he began, “Bankulli’s memory isn’t what it used to be. The truth? I cooperated fully—took the breathalyzer test (passed, obviously) and waited for the officers. They towed my jalopy, and when I saw the recovery fees exceeded the car’s value, I just let it go. End of story.”

The music tycoon concluded with his signature humor, joking about the absurdity of fleeing police in a vehicle hardly worth chasing.
