Nigerian socialite Rahman Jago, a close associate of Burna Boy, has publicly affirmed the singer’s conversion to Islam, putting an end to mounting speculation.
Though raised in a Christian household, Burna Boy hinted at his religious shift in a recent interview, revealing he adopted Islam “at some point” while seeking deeper spiritual truth.
Since then, debates about his faith have circulated widely, with fans and commentators eagerly awaiting confirmation.
In a recent social media post, Jago shared a clip showing Burna Boy enthusiastically reciting Islamic praises alongside friends in a casual setting, captioned simply, “Allahu Akbar.”
Bashir Ahmad, former aide to ex-President Buhari, reshared the video, expressing joy at the singer’s apparent contentment and praying for divine guidance in his new path.
When questioned by a fan about Burna Boy’s conversion, Ahmad responded cautiously, noting that while associates confirmed it, the artist himself hadn’t yet made a formal statement.
However, Rahman Jago quickly intervened, asserting definitively that Burna Boy is now a practicing Muslim.
“He converted. He is now a Muslim,” Jago declared in a tweet, dispelling any lingering doubts.
