Yoruba Nollywood star Ashabi Simple has opened up about her past relationship with controversial singer Portable, alleging he took advantage of her youthful naivety during their time together.
The actress and filmmaker shared her story in a candid YouTube interview with Oyinmomo TV, revealing intimate details about their tumultuous romance.
Addressing speculation about marriage promises, Ashabi confirmed Portable’s proposal was the foundation of their relationship, stating she wouldn’t have committed without his assurance.
While acknowledging Portable’s positive influence on her career growth, the movie producer painted a complex picture of the Zeh Nation leader – describing him as genuinely caring beneath his controversial public persona.
Ashabi dropped shocking revelations about Portable’s family life, disclosing the 32-year-old artist fathered ten children, with her being mother to two of them. She emphasized their separation was necessary for personal growth.
In her native Yoruba language, the actress explained: “Portable spotted my innocence and exploited it when I was younger. Despite his flaws, he showed kindness initially.”
“At just 32, he’s responsible for ten children across different women. I bore two of them before realizing I needed independence.”
He preyed on my inexperience when we met. Though affectionate initially, the reality is he now has 10 kids at 32 – with two being mine. I had to walk away. — Ashabi Simple
